Your First Fever
Feb. 14th, 2006 09:07 amEmmy and I both thought you seemed warm this morning.
So first we tried your nifty thermometer pacifier. Unfortunately, all this did was make you gag; which seemed unneccessarily cruel.
So then we tried taking your temperature under your arm. Which meant having to hold you in place for about 5 minutes. Luckily, you're in a good mood today! Anyway, when the thermometer signalled it was finished, your temperature was 101. Which meant it's really 102 because you have to add a degree when taken under the arm. That's pretty high.
So, to be sure, we had to then take your temperature rectally. None of us enjoyed this very much. It registered 103, which meant it's really 102 because you then subtract a degree.
So we called Dr. G. and she said just to keep an eye on you - which is something I usually do anyway - and give you Tylenol.
You're not acting sick. Right now you're on the floor playing with your overhanging gym.
And look what you can do:
