Your Diaper Bag
Jun. 10th, 2006 04:06 pmThis was in my journal a few days ago, but I think you might enjoy seeing all the things I carry around with us whenever we leave the house!

All right, the only thing in this picture which I don't carry in my handbag is Charlie. But she wanted to be in the picture and I thought she made for a good size-comparison. Sort of like when those shopping channels show jewelry next to coins.
The bag in question is the most non-diaper baggish diaper bag I could find.
Contents - listed in a clockwise pattern:
* White blanket with orange polka dots and trim (upon which everything is resting) - useful for discreet breastfeeding as well as a floor covering if we're out and a blanket if she sleeps.
* Burp cloth - which, since she seldom spits up, I probably don't need. But if I take it out, she will!
* 4 diapers
* Perfume atomizer - filled with Lolita Lempicka
* Blistex lip balm
* Nymphette lipglass
* Business cards
* Makeup compact
* Sunglasses
* Mobile phone
* Coupons for Gerber lotion - which seems to make Charlie break out in a rash, so I haven't used them. But I don't want to throw them out because at some time in the future she might not break out in a rash...
* Tissues
* Changing pad
* Baby socks
* Baby bib
* Baby onesie - in case of a blow-out requiring complete change of clothing
* Baby spoon
* My wallet - containing $3.17
* Disposable camera which Emily gave me about a month ago and asked me to develop. I need to get on that.
* Small photo album
* Shopping list: artichokes, flank steak, fresh mozzarella, Father's Day cards, lemon vodka, blueberry vodka?, and beer (for my neighbor, Tom)
* 6 pens - and there's another one in my wallet
* Dayplanner - whoops, there's a pen there too. I have a total of 8 pens I carry about with me every day. Yet I can never seem to find one.
* Book for Charlie in case we're stuck somewhere and she's bored: "Mama, Do You Love Me?"
* Book for me in case we're stuck somewhere, she's asleep, and I'm bored:"Sky of Swords: A Tale of the King's Blades"
* Oral-B Brush-Ups - Textured teeth wipes
* Pacifier - GAH, only 1???? I need a few more, just in case!
* 3 packets of Mother's Milk tea - in case I'm out somewhere and suddenly think my milk supply has disappeared
* Plastic teether which vibrates when pressure is applied.
* Plastic box jammed with migraine meds
* 2 sets of keys
* Plush rattle
* 2 kinds of wipes
* Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer/Moisture Therapy: Sanitizes and Moisturizes in One!
