Your first heartbeats have begun! You are now an embryo and about 1/17 of an inch long. Growth is very rapid this week. The umbilical cord develops. Your eyes and ears are beginning to form as well as an opening for your mouth. Your heart has begun to pump blood and most of your other organs are well under construction. Buds form on your body that will become your arms and legs. Exciting week. I've got to go to a meeting tomorrow night - meanwhile, you're growing a heart. Busy, busy, busy!!!
