New Tooth!

You got very cranky today so I put you down for an extra nap. You woke up cranky. Nursing didn't help. Eating chicken and rice didn't help. Even raspberry sorbet didn't help. Certainly putting you down on the floor didn't help - then you just screamed.

This wasn't at all like you. Usually you're very cheerful and, even if you're having a bad day, you're still pretty easily distracted.

And then we realized you're cutting another tooth - your 5th! I hope it comes in soon - for all our sakes!

Oh - and here's a semi-recent picture which didn't make it into your journal, for some reason!

You and your sister resting:

You're in a room of your own now! How cool is that?!?

Also, you have a new tooth - top middle. We've been busy the last few days getting your new room ready!

After months of gnawing frantically, your first tooth (upper front) has cut through a bit. I can barely see it, but I can feel it!

And you had carrots last night which you enjoyed quite a bit more than green beans. You make funny faces and shudder when I feed you green beans. But with the carrots, you kept grinning and trying to grab the spoon.

You rolled off the couch today. I had left you, propped in the corner, so I could go get some coffee. You deliberately flung yourself forward and then rolled three times in order to get to the floor. I ran into the living room as I watched you do this - but it was like my feet were in molasses.

I reached you right as you hit the floor. You looked up at me, grinned, and rolled your way over to Daisy. Apparently, she was the motivating factor in this stunt. As soon as you reached her, she got up and walked away. Then you cried.

Pye, on the other hand, will let you clutch on to him - even though you rip out tufts of fur. But seriously, you've got to stop trying to gnaw his tail. Even though he doesn't seem to mind, it freaks me out!

Teeth???

Poor you! You haven't been napping much the last few days. And you've been waking up a lot at night. I think your gums are pretty uncomfortable. You've been ferociously chewing everything that passes by your face for weeks now, but I think it's really starting to get uncomfortable for you now. And yet the only teeth I think I feel are your bottom back molars - which makes no sense.
