flumpie: (Pooh - Friends Change)
After months of gnawing frantically, your first tooth (upper front) has cut through a bit. I can barely see it, but I can feel it!

And you had carrots last night which you enjoyed quite a bit more than green beans. You make funny faces and shudder when I feed you green beans. But with the carrots, you kept grinning and trying to grab the spoon.

1. You laughed for the very first time this morning. The object of your delight was the sound of Boompah's voice over the phone.

2. You love being changed. Often babies really don't like this. But you always smile and babble and wave your arms.

3. You get a massage every night before you go to bed. We use Johnson's Bedtime Lotion which smells so good - lavender and chamomile. Plus it makes your skin so soft - and slippery!

Just this weekend you've figured out that you might have some control over your hands. You love Yellow Duck and I think he's what's inspired you to try to flail your arms in a more productive manner.

Yellow Duck has a collar with interesting panels on it - different colors and they make crunchy sounds when you touch them. There are also two teething panels, but you aren't quite ready for those yet.

On a disturbing note, Yellow Duck's head flips back and there's a mirror in his neck. So that, when attempting to look down his neck, one would see oneself in the mirror. I'm not so sure who the sadistic toy developer was that thought this one up. But in all other ways, Yellow Duck is pretty awesome.

You haven't figured out how to grab onto Yellow Duck, much less hold onto him, but you have figured out how to bat at him. Of course, you could be saying, "For the love of heaven, Mom, get this scary thing away from me! Have you seen the mirror inside his neck?!?!"

There are three things which seem to fascinate you:

1. The bannister. That's always good for some arm-waving concentrated fun.

2. The ceiling fan. But only the one in the living room. You couldn't be bothered by the one in the bedroom. But you really like the one in our living room. Although only when it's still. When Boompah turned it on for you yesterday your eyes crossed and you looked angry.

3. My Paul Klee print of Two Dromedaries and a Donkey. So far we are the only two people who really seem to appreciate it!
